Meeting Minutes 5.13.20
Islander Club Meeting
Islander Board Meeting: 5/13
- Approve Previous Board Meeting Minutes
- Review Current State of Affairs:
o Covid-19 Policies: Islander will continue to follow municipal guidelines with regard to pool and gym closures, minimizing elevator contact with others and continuing to wear masks in public areas
- Ongoing Projects
o Trash Chute: City granted Southern Chute to have the inspection on Thursday 5/14 to finalize the permits for the chutes. Following that approval, the building can start the logistics for the enclosure. Javier & UR team to keep residents apprised of logistics
o Exterior Water Sealing: City granted permission to complete the work and are currently only working against the weather forces. Now slated for Monday 5/18 to begin
- Potential Future Works
o Gate - Enclose entire front: with our multiple entry points a mechanical gate that includes pedestrian access would likely cost anywhere from $50-100K. In light of current economic conditions the board is not prioritizing this project which would require an assessment
- Enclosure for Chiller/Cooling: Francisco looking into a possible enclosure to eliminate water getting carried by the wind onto the cars below as well as a variable fan to reduce noise and save on electricity.
- Misc Updates & Discussion
o Financials are forthcoming by 5/15 but UR has been working with Karena & Ann to clean up the books and the association has more balanced books than in previous years
o Pine tree removal: Original quote was to trim by 6ft for $2200 which seemed high for a temporary fix to issues regarding blocking view and falling debris/bird droppings; received a quote for ~$3900 to remove the tree and reduce falling debris on cars and the damage being inflicted on the pavement driveway by the roots; having landscapers to advise on removal of Brazilian peppertree
o Landscaping on the south side is forthcoming from the special assessment and adding in an umbrella by the BBQ area
Meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
